(The Children First students gather for a group picture.  The Rotary Club
of Sarasota Keys provides vision screening for these wonderful kids!)

At 22 months, Erick was barely
able to walk across the room,
for lack of oxygen.  The Rotary
Gift of Life of Florida brought
him here in March of 1997 where
he underwent an operation to
correct his heart problems.

Founded in 1960, our club is extremely active, taking on many projects serving our local community and Rotary International. Here are just a few of the projects that we support every year: (To learn about upcoming events, please click here. )

Youth Programs

Community Service International Programs

Charitable Giving
In addition to all of the hands-on activities in which we participate,
our generous members donate substantial sums each year to
The Rotary Foundation and to The Rotary Club of Sarasota Keys
   Foundation.
Over 65% of our members are Paul Harris Fellows in The Rotary
Foundation, and about 60% of our members have made commit-
ments to The Legacy Society of The Rotary Club of Sarasota
   Keys Foundation.
Interact Club at Sarasota Military Academy
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages
14-18. Our Interact Club at Sarasota Military Academy is one of
the most active clubs anywhere. We are extremely proud to be
   their sponsors!
Dictionary Project
Every year, all of the Rotary clubs in our district work together
to distribute free dictionaries to every 4th grade student in the
district. Our club distributes dictionaries to several local schools
   each year.
S4TL (Seminar 4 Tomorrow’s Leaders)
Founded by members of our club, S4TL is an annual, week
long leadership training program for high school juniors held at
Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida.  Each year, our
club sponsors two or three delegates.
Health Career Club
Founded by members of our club, The Health Care Career Club
at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has introduced
thousands of local high school students to careers available in
   the medical field.

Salvation Army Food Baskets
Twice a year, our club members go grocery shopping – not for
themselves, but for needy families in the Sarasota area. We
collect, sort, purchase, and deliver baskets of groceries to the
Salvation Army, who then deliver the baskets to pre-screened
   families in need.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Year after year, our club leads all organizations in the Sarasota/
Manatee area in holiday fundraising for the Salvation Army, through
our collection kettle on St. Armand’s Circle and through direct
   donations from our members.
Youth Vision Screening
Each year, members of our club conduct vision screenings for
children in order to prevent childhood blindness through early
   detection.
Youth Awards Banquet
Each year, our club celebrates the accomplishments of more
than a dozen local young people with a wonderful and moving
banquet and award presentation at the Sarasota Yacht Club.
Juvenile Diabetes Walk
Each year, our club is one of the leading organizations in the
Sarasota area in fundraising at the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation walk, and the only Rotary club involved.
Rotary Gift of Life
Our club is the Florida headquarters for this wonderful organiza-
tion, which helps needy children from developing countries
receive life-saving corrective heart surgery in participating hospitals
   in the USA.
